In May of 2006, shortly after my 12th birthday, I began shooting archery with a compound bow. In August of 2007 at Target Nationals in Colorado I was invited to attend an evaluation camp at the Olympic Training Center for the Junior Dream Team. At the time I had never even shot a recurve bow. After being selected to the JDT, I switched to Olympic Recurve in November 2007. 2008 was my first competition year with a recurve bow. I placed second at the California State Indoor Championships. At JOAD Nationals I placed second in the Olympic Rounds, and at the World Team Trails in Colorado I also placed second, and secured myself a spot on the 2008 USA Archery Junior World Team, Cadet Male Recurve, and I was only a Cub. At the Junior World Championships in Antalya Turkey I finished 36th overall. 2009 has gone really well for me so far. I finished first at the California State Indoor Championships, JOAD Indoor Nationals, the Mexican Grand Prix in Baja Mexico in the Junior Division, as well as first at the SI Cup in Carbondale Illinois in the Cadet Division. I finished second at the Junior World Team Trials in Carbondale Illinois and secured myself a spot on the 2009 USA Archery Junior World Team, Cadet Male Recurve.
