First started shooting a compound bow in 1982. Switched to Olympic recurve in 1996 after reading about the success of the US mens team at the 1996 Olympic Games. Started coaching in 1994. Started coaching Olympic style in 1998. Switched to KSL shooting technique after the release of Coach Lee’s book “Total Archery”. Former NAA Level 2. Became and Regional High Performance Coach in 2006, Community Coach in 2009, and Regional Coach in 2009. Completed all Elite Coach requirements except time requirement of two years as Regonal Coach in 2009.
